Shoreview
Shoreview is a suburban community located 10 miles northwest of St. Paul and is home to 27,000 residents. Shoreview is 12.2 square miles in area and is almost built out, consisting primarily of residential uses. It has 11 lakes and 1,400 acres of parkland and open space. Shoreview offers a variety of housing choices and is easily accessible to downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Shoreview used funds from the BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota Active Community Planning grant to incorporate active living principles into their comprehensive plan, specifically as they relate to land use, transportation, and parks and open space. The city worked with SEH consulting to identify breaks and the existing trail system and identify opportunities for new trails.
