City of Two Harbors
Two Harbors, located 20 miles northeast of Duluth, MN, is situated on the North Shore of Lake Superior along Trunk Highway 61. This community of 3,600 residents is the sole community in this project that is out of the metropolitan area. The city recently completed a trail plan for the community which includes an eleven mile trail system connecting the city's neighborhoods, business districts, waterfront, and new high school.
The City of Two Harbors is using funds from the BCBSMN Active Community Planning grant to conduct an active community planning process to update the city's comprehensive plan with active living principles.
